Smrithi works with children aged 0–24, with experience in trauma, attachment disruptions, parent work, and systemic family interventions, using an integrative, child-led approach grounded in psychodynamic play therapy, art therapy, DDP, polyvagal theory, and TI-CBT. Her work centres on strengthening relational safety, emotional regulation, and whānau connection.

About Smrithi

Smrithi offers short and long-term psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and their families. She provides a safe, compassionate, and confidential space where young people and their caregivers can explore emotional challenges, relationships, and life experiences. Smrithi’s aim is to support emotional wellbeing, strengthen connections within families, and foster positive developmental change.

Smrithi’s approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and developmentally informed. She understands behaviour as a form of communication and works to help children and adolescents express themselves in ways that feel safe and meaningful. Drawing on psychodynamic play therapy, art-based approaches, attachment-focused and trauma-informed frameworks, Smrithi works alongside young people and their families to reduce distress, build emotional regulation, and support growth. Through increased understanding and connection, children and adolescents can develop greater resilience and confidence in themselves and their relationships.

While specliasing in the below, Smirthi also has experience supporting individuals and families impacted by medical trauma and hospital interventions, and works with a range of challenges including GDD, DMDD/PMDD, PTSD, BPD and Bipolar Disorder.
